Leafs Send Jr Gulls Home Happy

A strange game all around, as it began with a defenseman sitting up front waiting for his gear, and a goalie and a forward being dropped off with barely enough time to be dressed and ready to play. So, we looked ready for a while, playing an entertaining 9 minutes or so, and then, we collapsed, giving up three goals in the first, two in the last minute and a half. Outshot 37-16, we did manage eight and six shots in the second and third, but six penalties were too much to overcome, although they only had one official power play goal. Final score was 7-0.

Amanda ran in to help during the last half of the third, but not even her extra effort could right the ship. Austin helped it from being double digits, making many saves on hustle and positioning. The visitors took four penalties in the second period, but the Leafs could not capitalize. They added two more in the second, as the game was out of reach by the end of the second.

Next game, in Valencia the day after Christmas. The field is not strong, and we should be able to compete quite favorably. Cross your fingers Bantam Leaf fans--it might be our time!
